Vineyard Sound House

Sighted within a 2000 acre community of large parcels on the shore of Vineyard Sound is this grand home with a pedigree of New England history. Although crafted in 2005, it embodies the appearance of a farmhouse which has experienced many thoughtful modifications and additions over several centuries. A bold example of this is the window just inside the front door. The main stairway to the second floor bedrooms passes in front of the window as if part of the second floor was a later addition to the house.

On the exterior and in the screened porch the generous use of stone echos the topography of this glacial site as well as the palate of early New England architecture.
